Automatic Native advertising for Publishers

Publisher Settings is a new feature in ACM that enables automatic native advertising for Publishers.

This feature allows for automatic changes of an ad’s main design to match its surroundings, making it native to the site. By using it, Publishers can be sure that all ads running as native have the correct styling and also update a site’s identity when needed. While advertisers can be sure that their ad is looking native to all sites it’s published to. This minimizes the workload for Publishers and makes the go-to-live process a lot shorter!

Setting up automatic native advertising

Each new ‘library’ can be considered as one new ‘Publisher’. When setting up a new library you need to add the domains and sub-domains for each of the sites and apps you want your ads to look native to. For each domain, you need to upload or specify content that would make an ad native to the site. Content such as texts, images, videos, colors, fonts, click links, and ad serving.
Sub-domains will inherit content from domains. To brand sub-domains, you need to add separate content or specify what to use per row. Design changes are automatically applied in both Web domains and in App environments.

Image shows a Publisher Settings library with native advertising content. Content that will be automatically applied when a connected ad is running live on any of the specified domains.

Connecting a library

You will need to assign a library manually while creating a new ad. When working in the Live Editor there is a menu located in the top right corner, which says ‘more actions’. From this menu, you’re able to choose between Brand settings and Publisher settings. Through the Publisher Settings option, you will be able to choose between libraries created by account owners/Publishers. As a default, fallback content will be shown in the Live Editor when a library is applied. Correct content will not be shown until the ad is displayed on the corresponding domain.

Automatic native advertising for publishers is compatible with these standard ad formats at the moment:

  • Rich Video
  • Rich Image
  • Native
  • Moment
  • Faces
  • Storefront
  • Embrace
  • Chronicles

All standard ad formats in ACM will be compatible with this new feature soon enough.
Below is an example of the Native ad format shown with different native domain content applied to it. The example to the far left is the ACM default.

Additional updates

While we added a new feature, simultaneous we made some updates that will improve the overall user experience. For example:

  • In the Geography Library, countries with content will be shown first (excluding fallback content).
  • Delete undesired Campaigns, Libraries, and columns in Libraries.
  • Edit Campaign names directly from the campaign-view.
  • Added shadow on screen edges to indicate more content.
